The father of Argentine football star Carlos Tevez has been liberated in the wake of being grabbed on the edge of Buenos Aires and held for eight hours.
Segundo Tevez was taken by a gathering of men while driving his auto in Moron, by most accounts 30km (20 miles) west of Argentina's capital.
Police said the Tevez family had gotten a few calls from the men requesting a payoff to free him.
Neighborhood media say a payoff of 400,000 pesos (£30,000; $50,000) was paid.
Not the family or the powers have affirmed whether an installment was made.
"He is OK," a representative for the family said.
The previous Manchester United and Manchester City striker was conceded authorization to make a trip to Argentina by his current club, Juventus.
Yet reports in Italy said he had picked not to return after the discharge.
Carlos Tevez, who was conceived Carlos Alberto Martínez, was raised by Segundo and his auntie after his living father was murdered and his mother surrendered him.
The BBC's Ignacio de los Reyes in Buenos Aires says it is misty whether the hijacking was planned or if the gathering simply focused on an extravagant looking auto.
It is not the first run through relatives of football stars have been the focuses of kidnappings in Argentina.
