Daniel Sturridge: England striker sent for sweep in the wake of preparing harm

England striker Daniel Sturridge has been sent for a sweep after he was harmed in preparing on Friday. 

The Football Association has not uncovered the way of the damage and says Sturridge will be surveyed via England's therapeutic staff after his sweep. 

Liverpool forward Sturridge, 25, played 89 minutes of the 1-0 benevolent win over Norway at Wembley on Wednesday. 

Roy Hodgson's men face Switzerland in their opening Euro 2016 qualifier in Basel on Monday. 

England guard Gary Cahill missed preparing with a lower leg issue however is relied upon to be fit to join in Saturday's session.

Talking at a question and answer session at St George's Park, Cahill said of Sturridge: "We have our fingers crossed on the grounds that he's a key player for club and nation. He has been fabulous recently and he's an enormous player."
