Manuel Pellegrini censures 'little group' Chelsea after draw

Manchester City director Manuel Pellegrini said Chelsea played like a "little group" amid Sunday's 1-1 draw and condemned their protective style. 

Andre Schurrle put Chelsea ahead before Frank Lampard leveled for 10-man City. 

Pellegrini, 61, said: "It think we played 90 minutes against a little group attempting to shield. 

"I would not be euphoric to play that way. Ten players guarded their half, they scored a counter assault and they kept on shielding until the end."

Pellegrini compared Chelsea's style to that of Stoke's, who beat the Premier League champions 1-0 at the Etihad in August.
